A little thinner than expectedFeb 11, 2010
I purchased these for my husband who only wears the Russell Athletic pocket tee. Recently two local department stores that carried these closed and so I turned to the internet. I was happy to find these and the quality was good except they seemed a little thinner than what we were used to. Overall though, I would make the purchase again.

My husband wears these shirts as work shirts. They are very heavy and durable, unlike the cheaper tees bought at discount stores. Will withstand numerous washings.

From the Russell Athletic website:
* Fabric: 100% Ringspun Cotton, 6.0 oz./sq. yd.
* Graphite, Indigo Heather, Navy Heather, Oxford: 55% Cotton/45% Polyester
So be careful which color you order or you may get a cotton/poly blend. Also, these are not the rugged heavy cotton tees that Russell made for decades. They're still a decent quality but not what they once were.
 Not 100% Cotton but 50 Poly and 50 cottonNov 12, 2009
If you like the feel and comfort of cotton T-shirts, then do not by these. They advertise as 100% cotton but on the shirt label is a 50% Polyester and 50% cotton blend. They are trying to sell us their junk and expect us to be happy and satisfied. I sent my shirt back to Amazon and hope that I get a refund. This is not what I expect from a company like Amazon. They are usually reliable and a very respectable company. I hope that they realize their mistake.

Recently, my wife complained that several of my t-shirts were showing their age and it was time for new ones. Amazon was my first choice in shopping for new ones. I looked at several brands and choose the Pro Cotton Pocket T over the Hanes Beefy T mainly because Amazon gives free shipping for brands they carry. I had selected several Hanes Beefy T-shirts at a cheaper price from one of Amazon's merchants and was in the checkout when the shipping came up at $35 (they charge per shirt shipping with no adjustment for combined shipping. Screw that!! I went back and looked at the Pro Cotton T-shirt. In reviewing comments most people were satisfied with their purchase however, several complained about the shirts not being what they use to be. I'd have to disagree. I have a few older Pro Cotton T-shirts that were buried in my hunting pack for a few years and compared with the new ones. Same quality manufacturing and same thickness material. The only real differences are: 1) the neck is tighter (which I like but maybe a problem if you have a large neck) and 2) the cotton material is softer, not thinner. Other things I like about the Pro Cotton are: long sleeves down to the elbow, generous waist length (I tuck my shirts in so this is a big deal to me), reinforced and generous sized pocket and the tighter reinforced neck. I wear an X-large. I will be back to buy more of these shirts.
